Media 51
Autism Center
Concept:
Street art is a form or graffiti that aims to showcase ideas independently and away from typical gallery settings. It fuses humor and anarchy with complicity and style to create a story that relates greatly to the client’s ideals.
Street art connects several concepts between the company’s ideals and aim. The pattern and texture of the street art creates a fluid and energetic feel which relates to Media51’s aim of attracting a younger, more vibrant audience. The choice of vibrant colours connects to the art and the original exposed materials of the building, while scale influences a sense of energy and relate the inspiration to the overall theme to reinforce the vivid feel of the space.
The use of curvilinear lines and forms translates in the interior furniture and reflects the dynamic qualities of the inspiration. Textures will influence diversity and complexity. However, neutral coloured upholstery will relate the interior architecture of the space with the design and layout of the furniture pieces to create a balanced and softer feel. Materials eminent in the original building and its interiors will retain its exposed qualities. Showcasing some of the street art and doodles left on the walls will connect to the ideals of the company and scale will be used to create a grander, more energetic atmosphere.
