Concept:

The intention of Arbutus Grove Autism Center is to provide individuals who are affected by Autism Spectrum Disorder with support throughout their independent routines. Finding harmony through the different design principles of colour, texture, lighting, and sound considerations will allow users to feel comfortable and provide trust while using the space. The natural path of the facility is meant to comfortably guide individuals throughout the space. Layering neutral tones with muted pinks and oranges and sensory textures will simultaneously connect the users to their environment by defining certain areas. Dimmable lighting throughout the centre will allow for the team at Arbutus Grove Autism Center to work alongside each individual and their specific behavioural needs comfortably.
